Permissions for Tu Shanshu

Penny is a psychic.

Per his app:

As a general discipline, Penny is a psychic and is able to read minds. Most magicians have wards up to protect their minds and Penny generally tries to avoid reading minds anyway. In Tu Shanshu, he'll only be able to read minds when he actively tries (at which point obviously player permission is needed), not to get stray surface thoughts from characters (unless requested).

It’s possible for another psychic to reach out to Penny and he will hear their voice in his head. He hates it and will self-medicate to prevent it, but it does work.

Please comment here if:
(1) your character is also a psychic and you want to play with that
(2) your character should be immune (or you would like them to be)
(3) your character is highly susceptible (or you would like them to be)
(4) you have a plot idea involving Penny's psychicness

I'm familiar with the canon (though not many deets, so I appreciate you telling me!) and would love to play with something in future.

Penny is definitely more psychic-savvy than Rey was, but he also doesn't have the Force, so it could be a toss up and we can definitely play it by ear.

I'm totes down with Kylo trying to break into Penny's mind, if it comes up, and getting some stuff off of him. Even though Penny's a psychic himself, his defenses aren't the best (he drugs himself in canon to avoid a powerful villain's constant psychic noise, rather than being able to resist it constantly) and he's pretty open emotionally, etc. Shouldn't be too hard to dig around for a little while.

They could have a fun confrontation... and if they ever end up on good terms, maybe they could help another get better at shielding xD
