Permissions for Tu Shanshu

Penny is a psychic.

Per his app:

As a general discipline, Penny is a psychic and is able to read minds. Most magicians have wards up to protect their minds and Penny generally tries to avoid reading minds anyway. In Tu Shanshu, he'll only be able to read minds when he actively tries (at which point obviously player permission is needed), not to get stray surface thoughts from characters (unless requested).

It’s possible for another psychic to reach out to Penny and he will hear their voice in his head. He hates it and will self-medicate to prevent it, but it does work.

Please comment here if:
(1) your character is also a psychic and you want to play with that
(2) your character should be immune (or you would like them to be)
(3) your character is highly susceptible (or you would like them to be)
(4) you have a plot idea involving Penny's psychicness

Devin isn't psychic, and while he wouldn't be immune to Penny, he does have some mental defenses. The flipside of that being he wouldn't be highly susceptible except under certain circumstances (when Devin extends his fangs, it's a state of less emotional control, so Penny would be able to read his mind more easily that way I imagine). If he finds out his mind is being read without his permission, Devin will be Very Displeased, however.

Being technically dead, that might also make Devin seem mentally a bit alien? Yay vampires. Devin's also got a dormant fragment of an angel in him, so if Penny dug in deep, he'd hit an absolute wall. Which could be interesting to explore, although might result in a lot of yelling among other things.

Penny has read a few dead people before, so that won't be a red flag really (and I've been playing it that he doesn't auto know it's a vampire just by mind reading, though it's up to you on that).

I don't think he'd dig so deep as to find the angel. Usually he only picks up surface thoughts if the person is shady or to prove he's psychic. He only goes deeper if someone proves to be an enemy or is unconscious and in need of prying.

Makes sense! I wouldn't mind either way if he can notice Devin is a vampire off the bat. He's not trying to keep it a secret.

Hopefully there's no need for prying, lol. No idea how they'll end up interacting in terms of CR, although he and Penny might actually get along in being blunt jerks to people friendship through antagonism. We'll see how it goes on all accounts.
